As a Program Director, Shane serves as a liaison between HOME WORKS! and the school by working very closely with the Site Coordinators at her assigned schools/districts. Shane’s responsibilities include program management, logistics, planning, and data collection, as well as leading continuous quality improvement initiatives and the integration of best practices within the program. Additionally, Shane leads training sessions for educators and faculty who participate in HOME WORKS’ schools.
Shane Kennedy joined the HOME WORKS! team in July, 2017 while jointly managing grant funding at SIUE East St. Louis Campus. There he oversees the incoming grants and their effective implementation. All funding is focused on the improving the community of East St. Louis, through workforce development, education, and social justice. Shane has also consulted for multiple school districts in regards to developing improvement plans to maintain Title I funding. He began his career as a middle school mathematics teacher for SLPS and eventually Ritenour School District. He has earned a Master’s Degree in Education from UMSL, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, and a Master’s of Business Administration from Saint Louis University. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University Of Notre Dame.
