Cindy Kalachek

As a Program Director, Cindy serves as a liaison between HOME WORKS! and the school by working very closely with the Site Coordinators at her assigned schools/districts. Cindy’s responsibilities include program management, logistics, planning, and data collection, as well as leading continuous quality improvement initiatives and the integration of best practices within the program. Additionally, Cindy leads training sessions for educators and faculty who participate in HOME WORKS’ schools.

Cindy Kalachek joined the HOME WORKS! team in March, 2017 after 10+ years of serving as an High School English teacher, teaching grades 9-12 in literature and writing. She began her career at Mary Institute Country Day School and then served as Department Chair at Grand Center Arts Academy where she helped create the school’s first English Language Arts curriculum for grades 6-12. She is a published author of educational materials for Language Arts and Social Studies courses. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Harvard University and Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and English from Washington University.
